The grumpy dads on family sitcoms were always my least favorite characters as a kid, likely because they brought the mood down in my bright-eyed, childlike wonder-filled self. As I lost the spark and vigor for rainbows and unicorns, I started seeing characters like Red from That 70s Show as an inspiration. Even though he's cranky about anything and everything, he manages to enjoy life with a newspaper, a TV, and a cup of joe. Sounds like the life I've been missing. What do you think?
